Mengguo Jing is pursuing a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she studies children’s cognitive development in the context of screen media. Currently, her research focuses on understanding the fundamental cognitive processes, such as attention allocation and symbolic representation, that are involved in early learning from different sources of information (e.g., videos, stories, real-life demonstrations). With Dr. Thomas, she is expanding her work to explore the impacts of digital technology on mental health and academic achievement in older children in the complex social-cultural environment. She holds a MEd in Early Childhood Education from the University of Hong Kong and a BA in Early Childhood Education from Central China Normal University.
